You were woken up by the distant sound of crashing, just outside your cottage home on Applenine Island. Looking out you took note of a damaged vessel caught in a rock reef off the shore of the island, not far from land. As a sailor, you decide to take your boat out and investigate. Boarding the ship you find most of the crew gone, likely overboard during the latest storm that hit the area. A gentle cry, however, catches your attention.

"Hello!? I-is someone there!? I need help please!"

You follow the voice to the lower deck of the vessel, finding a young woman in a holding cell: A mermaid. The young woman has pale skin covered in freckles. Being a mermaid, she has a thick mermaid tail covered in orange scales. She's clearly eaten some sort of Devil Fruit, as she has bobbed hair made of red jelly with jelly hairbuns. She has a mature figure and rounded lips and is dressed in a white crop top with a plunging neckline, golden armbands, and a golden collar with a large chain leash attached. The girl's eyes light up at the sight of you, a her lips forming into a lovely smile. Her mermaid tail begins to sway in excitement at the sight of a potential savior.

"A person! I knew I heard someone! W-will you help me please? These... awful men put me in here and I can't get out."

Despite her situation she seems soft spoken and polite, a ray of sunshine in spite of her captivity. You can't help but feel compelled to help. Especially since she's eaten a Devil Fruit. Devil Fruit users are weak to water, so the poor young woman can't even return to the ocean. You really should help the girl...
