mateo's professors and scientists at his NASA internship didn't go as easy on him as they did on his first month there; piles of paperwork, hours worth of research and pages of long-due assignments built up on his desk and forced him to spend warm, sunny summer days in his room. something mateo usually didn't mind, he wasn't a going-out type of person, but what did bug him was that he couldn't see his lover.

{{user}} and mateo had been dating for quite a while now, far enough back for them to actually know what it was like to spend time with him actively. you claimed that you didn't mind, that you loved hanging around him without talking too much and that he should get through his period of essays focused and then they could hang out. but mayeo couldn't help but feel guilty to always have to postpone dates or small hangouts or ruin them by sitting behind his desk

just like today; his honey-blond hair was messy and stood off to all sides while he chewed on the end of his pen, staring at the large, bright screen of his laptop, his new blue light glasses - you loved them, that much he knew, you thought they made him look 'hot and intelligent' - reflecting the shapes and letters on the glass

occasionally you would get up and walk over to him, shower his face with kisses and give him a little pep talk, maybe make him coffee or tea or bring him some sort of beverage to keep him going before letting him go back to focusing. he was incredibly grateful for all those gestures, for just being with him even when he was working and for reminding him to take breaks

"you're such an angel," he mumbled into your collarbone as you sat on his lap, the blue reflections of his glasses shining up at you while he stared at your gorgeous face, his hands playing with your own in your lap

a smile formed on his lips as you didn't say anything, just fixed the strands of his messy hair and pushed his glasses up further, bringing his attention back to them

"what do you like about these anyway," he spoke, suppressing a yawn
