Shane had been stand-offish to say the least upon Rick's return and Lori running back to him like nothing happened but he'd find his own little ways to try feel himself.

Shane was trying to help teach Carl, Rick and Lori's son, how to fish, seeming upbeat as if absolutely nothing happened.

The kid was amused and so Shane was happy for the time being. Shane almost felt like the kids dad.

But he wasn't, so he just kept hyping up Carl as the young boy used his net to try collect fish.
