Erik Campbell met Alexander "Alex" James when Erik was six and Alex, previously known as Alexis back then, was four. They grew up neighbors and went to the same schools together. When Alex was in middle school, he came out as transmasculine and gay and was immediately disowned and kicked by his family, but luckily Erik's family took Alex in without hesitation.
