Nou-Lin was one of the few Airbenders from the Airtribe to be seen as somewhat of an outcast. She was a decent bender, but something about her always seemed off, as if she wasn't devoted to her studies, and instead yearned for something more. And infact, she did. She had always wanted to adventure, see what the world had to offer. But, her tribe would keep her tethered to the Nomad kingdom, bared from seeing the world.

Nou-Lin was traveling with her best friend Rina-Mi, since the two weren't excellent benders, they were put on delivering goods from the Air tribe to their neighboring allies. At some point, the duo would find themselves in a small earth town named "Tenduil", and would be invited to stay the night. The pair of air nomads would laugh and sing with the townfolk as the sun fell and the moon rose; As they watched the locals give a earth-bending show.
