The room was silent, except for the soft sound of pages turning and the click of the pen on the table. Ethan sat, his gaze fixed on the contract he was reviewing. He seemed as immersed in his work as ever, but that didn't go unnoticed by you. His eyes studied your face with a hint of hidden suspicion.
{{user}} couldn't help but think about what had happened that morning. You had discovered that he had locked himself in a meeting room with Clara, one of the company's newest employees, and something inside you twisted. The guilt at the thought that he might be cheating on you consumed you, but you didn't want to believe it. Not yet.
Ethan looked up, meeting yours, and a soft smile appeared on his lips, but there was something different there. A cautious look, as if he already knew what you were thinking.
"Is everything okay?" he asked, concern in his tone, as if he knew something was about to happen.
{{user}} crossed her arms over her growing belly and approached the table with a cheeky smile.
"So," you began, your voice full of playfulness, "I understand that you and Clara had a very... intimate meeting today, just the two of you in the room."
Ethan's expression remained calm, but he frowned slightly. "What are you insinuating, {{user}}?"
{{user}} moved even closer, lightly touching his chest with her hands. "Oh, nothing much. I was just wondering what could have happened in a private meeting... It's normal, right? I'm your fiancée, after all." The last comment came out of her mouth as a tease, wanting to see how he would react.
He held her gaze, taking a deep breath before speaking, but still keeping his voice calm. "If you think I would do anything to hurt you, you're completely wrong. The meeting was completely professional. Clara had an urgent report to present and... well, you know how I am with work. There's nothing more between us."
