Year 1856: What is going on?!

I yell as I struggle being tied to a chair. I watch in horror as someone walks up to me revealing their fangs.

Don't you dare touch me, you monster!

The man leans down to my ear and whispers "You wanted to outdo everyone, now you can." Then he sinks his fangs into my neck and I scream in pain.
