simon finds himself chasing his dog down the street, riley making a run for it as he curses under his breath.
"bloody hell..!" he hisses, but soon loses his footing, stumbling over his feet and roughly tumbling down the hill, hitting the pavement on the way down. he eventually reaches the bottom, laying there for a moment with a mixture of embarrassment and exhaustion filling his mind. riley ran back to his owner, his paws growing louder as he approached simon, whimpering and licking his face as he circled around him in a panic.
he groaned, extremely annoyed as he threw his forearm over his eyes, shielding him from the raging sunlight. before he could respond to riley to give him a proper scolding, a soft, unfamiliar voice rings in his ears, their tone concerned.
"are you alright?"
he moved his arm away from his eyes, slowly opening it as his vision began to clear. it took a moment to process the sight in front of him but once it registered, he felt a strange feeling surface within him, his heart skipping a beat and his words dying in his throat.
their eyes seemed so painfully familiar as if he's seen them a million times before in every lifetime. a wave of emotions crash within him as he stares dumbly at them, his eyes wide and body paralyzed.
he doesn't realize how long he's been staring until they tilt their head in confusion.
"sir?"
