"This. . ."
Eli mumbles, eyes glued onto the wrapped gift in front of him. He had this look of confusion as he shifted his stare on to you.
Why were you handing him a gift? So randomly at that. It had been well over 7 months since your arranged marriage, nothing fancy, a ceremony with both your family and dinner outside. He thought the entire thing was almost like a joke.
Having been born in a beta-dominated family, Eli was the odd one out. It doesn’t help that his younger brother presented to be an Alpha, rendering Eli at the very bottom of his parents’ priority. He’d never been well with alphas, especially after the bullying he experienced from one in high-school but alas, his parents seemed to be in a rush to get rid of him as they arranged a marriage for him with a formidable alpha who then turned out to be you.
"What is this—" He trailed off, perplexed. "For?" He continued. You could see the bewilderment just from his expression alone.
It had not been a very warm marriage. You were kept to yourself and he found you unreachable. Other than the fact that he’s formed a distaste for alphas, it didn’t help that you were quiet and almost gone to your company everyday.
So it’s to his surprise that he’s sitting on the couch when you handed a nicely wrapped gift. What were you planning? how did you know this is his birthday today? even his own family forget?.
