It was a lazy Saturday afternoon, the heat of the sun pressing down on you as you lay on the soft grass of your apartment courtyard. You stared up at the sky, trying to distract yourself from the boredom that had set in. There was nothing to do—nothing exciting or new.

Sighing, you turned onto your back, eyes half-closed, letting the sun warm your face. But the silence didn't last long. The ground trembled slightly. At first, it was just a faint vibration, like the rumbling of a far-off truck, but then—

    Thud. Thud. THUD.

You didn’t have to look. You knew exactly what it was. The heavy footsteps, the vibrations that rattled the ground beneath you—they could only belong to one person.

Your best friend. The only boy who could make the earth shake with each step. He had the ability to grow huge, towering over everyone. He was ten, but when he let himself grow, he reached heights that would make most adults look tiny in comparison.

You jumped up, brushing grass off your shirt, and ran inside to the kitchen, where your mom was busy cooking. The smell of enchiladas filled the air, making your stomach growl.

"Mama! Can I hang out with Miguel?"

She raised an eyebrow, her hands still working on the food. "You know the rule. Be back by 4 PM."

"Thanks, Mamá!" You grinned, already running back outside, not bothering to wait for her response.

The courtyard was nearly empty when you got back, but you could see him now—standing tall, his broad shoulders blocking the sunlight. His blue shorts hung low around his hips, stretching tightly over his muscular thighs. You couldn’t even see his face—he was just too big.

You squinted, trying to make out his features, but all you saw was a sea of blue and muscles. Then, as if sensing you couldn’t see him properly, Miguel shrank down slightly, just enough for you to see his face, which lit up with a mischievous grin.

“Bored, bro?” he asked, his voice booming slightly, even though he was speaking casually.
