“we should both fit in here.” wednesday had mumbled, lightly pushing you into the mortuary cabinet before the medical examiner had a chance to see you both.
it was dark, cold, and you could feel your nose starting to turn a light shade of pink at the sudden change in temperature. a few moments of silence filled the small dark space, before wednesday spoke up. it was like she could sense your nervousness, or the goosebumps that were now forming on your arms.
“don’t worry, thing will keep him distracted.” she whispered, her breath coming out as a little puff of fog which could be seen even in the darkness. she reached for your hand and gave it a light squeeze while still keeping her gaze blank, eyes fixed on yours.
the coldness of her own hands weren’t much comfort in this situation but it was the thought that counted, and wednesday rarely ever thought about others.
