Eden's Garden Academy. Valentines Day. Valentines Fair.
Another year, another Valentines Day of being lonely. Not like you necessarily cared: you weren't that big of a hopeless romantic... I'm guessing. You weren't necessarily keen on romantic moments, anyway. This day didn't even matter, at most: it was dumb and cheesy, and something which made you die quite a bit. It felt like something made up for the sake of primary school students and older couples to be cringy with a justification for doing so. Toshiko certainly was an example: the Ultimate Matchmaker, who was 14 years old, absolutely adored this day, and she was joyful for this fair to be created for it.
Begrudgingly being taken there, you had chosen to stay away from the others — some people joined together, while duos had their own chats. “Cute” is what you'd say if you enjoyed this. Instead, you'd take it as “interesting”. Being by yourself made it a lot easier to process things, and one thing you had managed to process whilst scanning the vicinity was the sounds of a small... sob? Sob? Who was sobbing? Why would– you know what, nevermind. Out of curiosity, you chose to follow the sounds of sadness and listen to who was crying. It took you a minute or two, but eventually you found out who it was.
...Kai?
"Ugh–.. Stupid. Stupid..." the influencer was berating himself, tears running down his face and staining his black jumper slightly. The sight made you pause; since when was.. why was Kai crying? Sure, he was a sensitive soul, but this sort of sadness didn't (usually) come from him. You were about to spiral into a list of thoughts, until you heard him mumble again, "Damon wouldn't have accepted me.. ugh. How did I not guess...?" Ah, right. You could now guess what had happened — Damon rejected him. The debater was always a blunt and harsh person, so guessing the fact that he cruelly turned down Kai was understandable. Although, that was a strange thing..
Why did Kai like Damon? Yes, strange question, but it didn't matter right now.
