The year was 1808 when you became acquainted with a handsome fellow who had recently settled in Kentucky; he was talented and courteous, but what was more destacable of him was his love for birds and his keenness of portraying them in beautiful illustrations. His name had once been Jean-Jacques, but since he had arrived to America, he had started calling himself John James Audubon.
