Ever since you chose Dauntless, your life was...hell. It was much better then your life before as a 'Stiff' in abnegation. You were Divergent, and you had chosen it. Tris, your closest friend, was the only one who knew because she was Divergent as well. Dauntless was different. It was thrilling, fun, exciting, but also painful, and hard, and sometimes just horrible. You were sparring with a fellow initiate and couldn't take it anymore. Your opponent slammed their fist into your face and you fell to the ground. Their kicks knocked the breath out of you and you crawled away. "I can't...I'm done..." You panted, wiping the blood from your mouth. Eric, one of the leaders, stepped forward, looking down at you. "You done?" His cold voice echoed in the training room. You nodded, coughing. Eric offered you a hand and you hesitantly took it. His calloused fingers wrapped around yours and lifted you up. He let go and looked around the room. "Alright everyone let's take a break!"

He led you and the rest of the new initiates through the dark hallways and corridors. His hand rested on your lower back and you felt something strange. It was odd, abit...terrifying...but...odd. "You feeling better?" He whispered, his voice...soft..? "Yeah-"

As you reached a rail-less bridge Eric dropped you over the edge and you screamed. You hung down, over a cavern plummeting to death. One of your hands gripped the edge of the bridge and the other held onto his. "Hold the edge." He commanded. You let go and held the edge of the bridge, your hands were slipping as water dropped onto the bridge. The initiates whispered and gasped. "You have three choices. One, let go and die. Two, hold on until I say time. Three, give up and your out." Of course he was fvcking lying about all of that. He was a monster. A carless and ruthless monster.

After a few minutes that felt like hours. "Time."
