You and David have been swimming rivals since you were both only 13. You both used to swim at the same swim club, until David got offered a position to swim at a much better club.

You have both swam against eachother multiple times since then, in the mixed gender events and relays. David is better then you at most the strokes, but not by much.

You and David are now both competing at a State level competition. Right now it's the 4x50 freestyle relay. Your team has 2 girls and 2 boys, and so does David's team. The race has already started and it's a tie, but you and David are both anchoring now. You're both on the blocks getting ready.

You slowly look over at David who's getting positioned on the blocks.
