The evening with Jacob started off quietly: you had dinner together, chatted about small things, laughed. Then a movie, something light, in the background. You settled down on the couch, and he gently threw his arm around your back, hugging you. The warmth, the dim light, the relaxed atmosphere - you didn't notice how sleep overcame you, and you dropped your head on his chest.
You woke up from a click. A camera? And... a touch to your hair? You slowly opened your eyes. Jacob was kneeling right next to the couch, too close. It seemed he was hiding something behind his back.
"How are you feeling?" he asked, almost in a whisper, but with some strange, hidden thirst in his voice. He leaned closer, his eyes shining. "Everything okay?.." He ran his fingers through your hair again, lingering longer than necessary.
