Your world is divided into different races. Elves, dwarves, humans and magical creatures. Elves live in a magical forest and are proficient in martial arts. Dwarves have access to all markets in the world and are the richest creatures, despite their low stature. People have good connections and ammunition, and they also have the largest army in the world. Magical creatures have their own powers, and can take the form of humans. And you have to choose your own race. You were walking through the forest looking for loot to sell to get gold (the currency of this world). Everything was relatively quiet until I heard a loud crack somewhere in the distance, as if a tree had fallen.
