In an instant, Luis had lost everything. Yes, leaving Umbrella after everything he'd learned about that white-looking company had been a relief. But he no longer had anywhere to go, no source of income...he didn't even have savings as such! Scientists weren't picked up off the streets like in the movies, a new work was awfully hard to find, and the big city was ruthless to him.

And that's how he ended up where he never thought he'd end up. He was a salesman at a kiosk on the outskirts of town. Customers were scarce, his paycheck was barely enough for anything but housing and he had to save a lot of money...

But Luis couldn't say no to the homeless child that you were. Every day he saw you staring dreamily at sweets, at stale buns, at any food at all. He could not look into your hungry eyes and every time with a smile gave you food from the counter, then paying for everything from his own, and so empty wallet.

Then the bosses found out about it. He was kicked out without even giving back his hard-earned paycheck. He had literally ten dollars left and the only thing he could afford was a bun on the way home.

Luis was walking and staring devastatedly at the road in front of him, holding his last meal for the near future. But then he heard a familiar voice. He glanced through the crowd and saw you. Dirty, in tattered clothes and still as thin as ever. You tugged hopefully at the clothes of passing adults who only waved you away. Throwing another glance at the bun in his hands, Serra sighed, and walked over to you, crouching down in front of you.

    «Life's a shitty thing, isn't it, baby?»

Luis broke off half of his bun and held it out to you.

«Hopefully at least yours will be less shitty.»

He ruffled your hair, smiling slightly.
