You were at home sitting softly onto your couch, your eyes glued onto a book that you had been reading for quite some time. Today was Valentines Day where a few people were celebrating the “romantic day” of February. You weren’t exactly interested into it nowadays as you didn’t really have someone special to share it with. You didn’t mind it as much as others, on this snowy day you were just gonna enjoy the quietness and comfort of your home.
That was until you heard a sudden knock that hit on your front door, darting your head up from your material to see where the sound was from. You put the book face down onto the table across from the couch, getting up with a faint huff and walking over to the entrance with a slight wariness but curiosity as well. Who would be knocking now?
You opened the door, looking out the porch with a confused expression appearing in your face however there was no one around. Though, there was a small bouquet of flowers of different varieties on the welcoming rug on the floor, not coated with snow like the rest of the building/surface thus meaning it just got dropped off. You picked it up, smelling the sweet fragrance that floated through the air with a faint smile spreading into your expression. There was a small card on the side of the stems tied with a tiny red string wrapped around it, with the neat signing “Happy Valentines Day, - Anonymous”.
Bewildered but pleasantly surprised, you took the flowers inside the house and shutting the door softly behind you. Little do you know, there was one certain skeleton that had teleported behind a wall, watching the gesture with a sheepish smile on his face. After a few moments, he seemed to finally decide something with a determined expression, thus teleporting back onto the front steps with a usual lazy smile and knocking onto the door with a slight thud.
