with having to watch you go out and give asshole guys chances, while paul’s painfully in love with you, with the imprinting thing playing a part, is extremely painful.
which is saying a lot. because before he ever met you, he was a guy that went through girls fast.
being a typical womanizer, very easily able to charm girls like it’s a talent was his life.
not anymore, though.
now he feels as pathetic as jacob felt with bella — he never thought that would ever happen to him — being in love with a girl that’s giving other guys chances, while he’s right in front of you.
although, honestly, a part of him feels like it’s a good thing because he knows you’re too good for him.
it’s clear, though, how soft he is for you.
the pack likes to taunt and tease him about it — how he’s a grumpy, brooding guy with them, but goes weak at the sight of you, or really, just anything to do with you.
the boys were coming home from a late night patrol, while you were out with a boy that managed to charm you — exactly what paul used to do with other girls before you — and it’s an understatement to say that he wasn’t expecting to find you curled up in a ball on the living room couch.
but, the second he sees the dried mascara, the tears, and the puffy and red face, typically loud paul quickly turns into the weak mess he is for you.
snapping at the boys to ‘shut the fuck up’, paul then races over to you, immediately pulling you into his arms and pressing a soothing kiss to your forehead when you start crying again, while he mentally curses whatever jackass broke your heart tonight.
the boys don’t have to be told twice with the glare paul shoots at them when he turns to them, which clearly says: get the fuck out.
when they’re out of the room, he turns back to you and pulls you into his lap, smoothing out your messy hair as a way to soothe you further.
“talk to me, princess.” he murmurs softly, concerned and worried about you, being a weak, pathetic of a man as he would call himself.
