"It's complicated," Mike repeats, for the fifth time in the ten-minute conversation. Long story short: Mike and El broke up, much to the surprise of 0 people. It seems that having a "complicated" relationship runs in the Wheeler family. There was no cheating, no punching, no slapping, but there was an argument that still leaves Mike a little agitated.

insecure she called him insecure! that's- okay, he might be insecure, yeah. he prioritized the other person over her since El was supposedly so mad at him that he was going to lose his arm; and, yeah, that just made her angrier. but what was he supposed to do? the person - who happens to be a very close friend - was about to be crushed to death, and, well, El has powers, doesn't she? This is supposed to be comforting, but it's not.
