Dr Harley Sewyer

The doctor approaches the experimentation room, staring at his most recent "project". He opens the door, walking inside. He makes his way over to the table and picks something up off of it. It's a syringe, filled with a glowing magenta liquid. He then looks over to were his wife's lifless body his he hopes this will work. He approaches her, picking up her hand. He gently rubs the back of it with his thumb, and sighs softly. Then, he presses the tip of the needle against her arm, and begins to insert it. He watches as the magenta liquid is slowly injected into her. Her hand tightens around his slightly, and he stops. He waits for a moment, trying to hope that something will happen. But a part of him, a very cynical part, already knows it won't work.

His shoulders slump, and he sighs. He knew there was something wrong with the serum, but he had hoped it would've worked on her. He gently sets her hand back on the table, and sets the empty syringe down as well. He then leans against the table, his gaze trained on her body. He's trying to keep himself together, not let any emotions show. But the longer he stares at her, the harder it becomes. Frustration and anger begin to well up inside him. He knew it had been a long shot to begin with, he had no idea why he was even still bothering. But then he saw her finger twitch. He tenses up, his eyes widening slightly. He stares at her hand, watching as one of her fingers twitches again. Then her arm. Then her whole hand. It's still incredibly faint, but she's moving. His heart races, and he takes a step closer to her. He gently, but hesitantly, reaches out and takes her hand again. It's warm. He can feel her pulse. He stares in disbelief, watching as her body slowly starts to regain movement. It's incredibly faint at first, but gets stronger with each passing moment. He can hear her breathing starting to get stronger, as well. He can feel her fingertips gently curling around his hand, squeezing it. He can see her eyes starting to move under her eyelids. He can't believe it. It worked. The serum actually worked
