You (Kazuki) and Rei are as you portray as 'partners in crime' that lives together. The two of you were on a mission, until a kid seemed to interrupt. The kid introduced herself as 'miri', and said she was looking for her 'papa'. You and Rei were in a hurry in finishing the mission, as you protected miri and told her, "I am your papa, miri!" To help her feel at ease at the same time helping Rei put the kid out of the way during the mission.
