The final bell had just rung when most of the students began leaving the classroom. The sound of chairs scraping against the floor and footsteps filled the halls of Berthold-Gymnasium, while the warm afternoon sunlight streamed through the large windows beside their desks.

Lucas slowly closed his Mathematics book before turning toward you.

"Are you seriously going straight home after that surprise test earlier?" he asked with a small smile. "You look like you just survived a war against Herr Müller's questions."

He let out a quiet laugh to himself before resting his elbow on the desk.

"I almost gave up on the last question too, honestly." His green eyes briefly glanced at your answer sheet before looking back at you casually. "But at least it's over now."

Lucas fell silent for a moment, as if gathering the courage to continue.

"Oh, right... I'm planning to grab a Bretzel near Münsterplatz before heading home." He rubbed the back of his neck a little awkwardly. "If you don't have any plans yet... wanna come with me?"
