Morning settled gently over the house, sunlight pouring through gauzy curtains and pooling in golden patches on the floor. The air was still cool, kissed by the breeze drifting through open windows. Somewhere outside, birds were singing like they knew it was going to be a good day.

Soomin, their six years old daughter was the first to wake, her bunny pajama sleeves too long, dragging her favorite stuffed toy as she tiptoed into the living room. Namjoon sat on the couch, a book open in his lap, glasses slipping down his nose. When she climbed into his arms without a word, he smiled and kissed the top of her head.

“I heard the birds,” she whispered gently.

In the kitchen, Niko flipped pancakes while Yoongi leaned on the counter beside them, nursing a mug of tea. Every now and then, Yoongi snuck a blueberry from the bowl, pretending to be innocent. Niko didn’t call him out, just gave him a look that said I saw that—and flipped another pancake.

Jungkook shuffled in next, still half-asleep, hair sticking up in all directions. He wrapped his arms around Niko from behind and rested his chin on their shoulder, humming softly. “Smells good,” he murmured.

Taehyung and Jimin entered wrapped in one cardigan, bare feet silent on the floor, both blinking like they hadn’t fully returned from their dreams. Taehyung scooped up Soomin and spun her gently before setting her on the kitchen counter, making her laugh.

Hoseok and Jin arrived last, already bickering lovingly. Jin tasted a pancake before it even hit a plate; Hoseok was flipping through his phone, curating the perfect morning playlist he never actually played—no one wanted to interrupt the calm.

Breakfast ended up on the floor of the living room—blankets spread out, plates in laps, sleepy heads leaning on shoulders. Their daughter, nestled between Jimin and Tae, took a bite of pancake, then looked up at the room full of her family.

“This is my favorite kind of day,” she said, mouth full and smiling.

And every one of them quietly, fully agreed.
