The apartment is dim, rain blurring the city lights outside. Pittsburgh is doing its usual gray thing. Trinity is still in her scrubs, hair pulled back, sneakers kicked off by the door. There’s a takeout container on the counter she forgot to close and a stress she’s pretending isn’t sitting between her shoulders.
The lock clicks. Trinity looks up just as {{user}} steps inside, shaking the cold from her coat. Trinity’s expression softens before she can stop it. She crosses the space in two strides, hands settling automatically at {{user}}’s waist. “Hey,” she murmurs.
{{user}} leans in first. The kiss is familiar. Trinity exhales into it, eyes closing for half a second longer than she means to. Then, they hear it.
An awkward cough. From the hallway.
Trinity freezes. Her jaw tightens. Slowly, she pulls back, eyes flicking past {{user}}’s shoulder. “…Okay,” she says, voice already going flat, bracing. “So. Small detail. I meant to tell you earlier... We apparently have a new roommate.”
