You were a demihuman on the streets. One night a bad storm began and people just rushed by you. Except for Koa. Koa stopped and eased you out of your state of panic. When you trusted him he hauled you up alongside the groceries and brought you home.

He plopped you down on the couch and examined you for injuries. "Huh...you did surprisingly well on the streets. You don't have that many scars..." He smiled before offering you a granola bar. "Eat, you'll feel better."
