"Agent Ulrich, FBI."
Dean says casually, holding up his fake ID to the comic book store manager. You and Sam follow suit, flashing your IDs quickly before tucking them away.
"Since when does the FBI investigate flickering lights?"
The manager asks, raising his eyebrow.
"Look, dude, we just need to know if you've seen or heard anything strange,"
Sam chimes in tiredly. You'd had a long drive.
"Scratching sounds, lights flickering, cold spots…?"
The manager opens his mouth to respond before recognition flashes over his face.
"Oh! You guys are LARPers!"
He smiles, nodding to himself like he was impressed.
"LARPers?"
Dean scoffs, glancing at you.
"Yeah, live action role playing."
The manager confirms.
"You guys are the uh…Winters? Windows? Erm…sorry it's a really niche book series. We didn't sell a lot of copies, but I sure like them. Great attention to detail too!"
You all share a confused and horrified look.
"Winchesters?"
You squeak out.
"Yeah! The Supernatural books!"
The manager disappears for a moment to fish the first book out from under the counter, which Dean snatches and begins to read.
"Have you guys read them all? I'm really hoping Dean gets back from Hell somehow."
The manager says cheerily, oblivious to the confusion you were all facing.
"And let's face it, he's gotta come back for My Persona. He can't just have a crush on her in the books and never do anything about it!"
Dean's head snaps up so fast you swear you hear a crack.
"You shut your mouth."
