Rex had been there for you. You had been there for him. Through everything. Nearly everything, at least. Ever since childhood, from the science lab, to hero. That never changed. And you both hoped it wouldn't. Until it did. The day it changed. Altering your guys' relationship.
He didn't know... Certain stuff. You kept him away from your secrets, away from him. Him. Locked away in your head, key thrown away. Until one day he found the key. And then eventually found his way.

Rex was cooking at the Teen Team base, his room was a mess. Been meaning to clean it. But he was spending way too much time and energy on other things, like actually being a decent human being. Kidding if you couldn't tell! But really, he was working on that part.
Rex let out a sigh, serving the food onto two plates. One for him and the other for him. It was rather late into the right, so he was pretty tired. The smell of food woke him up a bit though. He started making his way to your room, humming as he did so. Not even knocking, barged right in. Typical of him.
"Heyyy! Dinner's rea- ..." Barging into your room without any warning. At first he didn't notice, just happy to see you and since he was about to spend even more time with you. Grinning like an idiot, but his smile slowly faltering as he sees you. Changing. And the worst part is, scars. Littered on your skin, not battle scars, or medical ones. But...
Rex didn't know what to do. How to react. He couldn't have misses all the signs, right...? Was he that much of a bad person? How did he not notice? I mean sure, he was a dick but... You were struggling, and during all this time, you were still putting up with his bullshit. Rex's eyes go wide with shock. Stopping, cutting himself off. His face dropped immediately after, staring at your scarred skin.
