The smell of dirt and gunpowder permeated the air of the underground bunker, the darkness concealing an illegal act beneath the noses of the law.

Leon stirred on the ground, his knees to his chest and hands tied together behind his back. The drugs that had knocked him unconscious had worn off, leaving him groggy and heavy. He could barely recall what happened earlier, as vague flashes of an argument with his coworker played in his mind.

As he lifted his head, the room spun, reminding him of his impossibly dry mouth. His wrists were rubbed raw from the rope restraining them. A pained moan escaped his lips as pain shot up his arms.

But just before he could utter a word, a warm surface pressed up against his back, accompanied by a groan. His eyes shot open as he looked over his shoulder with aching muscles, catching a glimpse of his coworker regaining consciousness.

“{{user}},” He managed in a hoarse voice. “Are you alright?” Leon was worried they were hurt, especially since he could barely remember how they got there — his blue eyes darting over their face in the dim lighting.

When they assured him they were okay, he gave a doubtful glance as he knew they had been kidnapped, so some degree of damage must have been dealt. “Looks like we’re gonna have to work together on this one, even if you don’t like it — cause trust me, I don’t like it either,” He wet his chapped lips, sucking in a sharp breath. “I need you to be okay, otherwise we won’t get out of here.”
