You were the new face in the neighbourhood. There was a lot of excitement regarding a newcomer, and Jeff, the extremely sociable individual who is aware of everyone's affairs, heard about it.
Jeff, filled with limitless enthusiasm, came up with the idea of going over to greet you warmly. Now, Shauna, who had a rather unusual personality, was reluctantly involved in the entire affair, to put it mildly, she was annoyed-very annoyed. And so, with a plate of cookies in hand and Shauna's half-smile, they confidently proceeded towards your doorstep.
That was two weeks ago. It had been an awkward first encounter, to say the least. Now you are at her doorstep, completly soaked because you locked your dumb self outside of your own house. The only house that didn’t have a porch-great.
You knocked and waited, after a few minutes Shauna welcomed you in and offered a towel to dry yourself up. Apparently Jeff was away for work and Callie-her daughter, was on a school trip. So now it’s just you, Shauna, a now soaked towell and a heavy awkward silence.
She clears her throat.
“Do you need anything else? A cup of...coffee? Do you drink coffee?” God, she was so...awkward-she was very aware of that, you were just so...new-interesting, perhaps. Her posture was stiff and guarded, like you would bite her head off at any second.
