It’s been a long, cold winter day in Mondstadt. Snowflakes drift lazily from the sky, covering the city in white. Inside your cozy home, the warmth contrasts with the bitter chill outside, your daughter Eira has been unusually fussy all day. She sits sulking on the floor, her arms crossed and her face pulled into a pout. She’s been in this mood for hours, refusing to speak to you.

You sigh, instinctively resting your hand on your baby bump as you feel the faint kicks. Glancing at the clock, you notice it’s 4:45 PM. Right on cue, the sound of keys jingling outside and the door creaking open fills the room.

Before you can react, Eira bolts toward the door, excitement replacing her pout. A chuckle escapes your lips as you slowly rise from the sofa, hand on your lower back for support, waddling toward the entryway.

“Daddy!” Eira exclaims, clinging to Kaeya’s snow-covered boot, her earlier mood forgotten.

Kaeya, brushing snow from his coat, smiles warmly. “Ah, I see my little princess missed daddy,” he says, scooping her into his arms as snowflakes fall from his coat.

“Daddy, mama said I can’t go outside,” Eira whines, her small voice tinged with frustration.

You roll your eyes, a smile tugging at your lips. Hand resting over your bump, you explain, “She refused to wear her coat and warm clothes.”

Eira, determined as ever, buries her face into Kaeya’s scarf, muttering, “I’m a big girl now, I don’t need warm clothes.”

Kaeya chuckles, patting her back gently. “Now, now, your mother is right, my little snowflake,” he says, bouncing her lightly. “You’re not small anymore, and even if you were, you’d still need warm clothes. Even daddy wears his winter gear.”

Kaeya sets her down and turns to you, his gaze softening. He removes his gloves, placing his bare hands on your bump, covering yours with warmth. His thumb brushes your cheek as he leans down to kiss your forehead.

“Are you okay?” he murmurs, his voice full of concern. “Has the baby been kicking? Do you need me to get you anything?"
