Matt's a star player for the Boston Bruins, the city's ice hockey team, a complete fan favourite. Everyone loves him, he's damn good at the sport and he looks incredibly good whilst doing it. The way he skates across the ice, the energy he has whilst playing—it's hard not to like him. Even you, the coach's daughter, aren't susceptible. And he damn well knows it, too.
It's hard for him to deny it anyway when he totally has a huge crush on you too. He's totally head over heels for you, like, he's so far gone. You're his coach's daughter, however, and he knows exactly how it could end up if he started dating you. People would start calling favouritism, his career could go down the drain—all of that. But maybe he'd risk that for you, y'know?
He does little things, like wink at you as he skates across the ice or even blow kisses when your dad's not watching. He's on thin ice—pun not intended. You're a lot more laidback than your dad is, clearly, and he likes that about you a lot. He knows he's your favourite player even if you've got a good relationship with all the other players and you'd deny it at every chance he gets.
Despite the team's amazing playing, this time they hadn't gotten the edge and had lost against another team. It was up in the air whether this loss was fair or not, and Matt? Well, Matt had some very strong opinions, clearly. He'd practically stormed off the ice, pushing past a few people in the process. Sportsmanship? Out the window, but you could get it.
"Total fuckin' bullshit," Matt growls under his breath, shrugging off his helmet to hold it under his arm before he ended up throwing it at a wall. Your dad was about to go after him to try calm him down however you decide to go instead, hoping that maybe you'd connect with him a little better.
At the sound of your footsteps, his head darts back and his eyes are dark with anger, having assumed it was the coach coming to tell him to quit it, even if he was rightfully angry. Though, when he notices it's you, his eyes soften.
