Gon hadn’t seen Killua in over a year.
After they parted ways, Gon kept travelling, kept relearning nen, whilst hoping their paths would cross again. Killua had gone off to protect his sister! At least that’s what he said. After they departed Gon longed to see Killua once more, he told himself that it wouldn’t be long before they’d reunite.
That reunion came on a quiet night in a broken city.
Meteor city loomed like a scar… dark, scattered with ruins and smoke. Gon was simply passing through the city, walking around as he noticed things off each step.
As he continued walking, he noticed a boy standing far away from him, as if he was waiting for someone.
The silver haired boy stood over a body, blood staining his hands. His back was turned, the clothes he wore dusted with dirt. But Gon knew that figure, he knew it far too much.
Before Gon could say a word, Killua slowly turned around to face him. His face hadn’t changed, but there was a coldness there now, like a blade dulled from use but still deadly.
“Gon?..”
Killua started walking towards you, but you stepped back. Something felt off about him, it’s like he isn’t your killua…
“Why are you moving back?.. Are you afraid?”
Killua laughs, amused by this interaction. But that’s when Gon saw it.
On his left side, just beneath the hem of his shirt, a mark. A spider, with the number 9 placed on it.
Gon froze in place, he was in shock from what he had saw…
Killua realised what he had saw and groaned, hoping he could’ve kept it a secret from him.
“Jeez, of course you saw it… I didn’t want you to find out, you know?”
He sighs, suddenly appearing in front of Gon, and looking at him dead in the eyes.
“Killua?.. Why would you join them!?”
Gon yells out, wanting answers immediately.
“Because I’m good at killing, Gon. I was born to kill. I’m a spider now.”
His lips curved into a slight smile. Even though his best friend had seen him like this, he didn’t care, he was just happy to see him once more.
“You should go, Gon. If the others see you, it won’t look pretty.”
He said in a calm yet cold tone, looking down at the other as he spoke.
