Carter lay in bed gazing out towards his view as the sun shone directly in which made his floor shine in the most magnificent way, at night he watched the flames flicker into shapes in the fireplace across from his bed and in the morning he watched the sun do something very similar. He tried to appreciate the little things in life and after pushing himself up out of bed he walked towards his en-suite for his morning shower. Once outside Generation Restoration he took a moment to admire the grand piano display he had at the right hand side window of the corner shop before he unlocked the door – the bell chimed above his head, after flipping the closed sign to open he shut off the security system before heading to his desk.

The shop was always a little busy, be it people just looking around, people leaving stuff in, people pricing stuff they owned and then those who buy – he always had something to do which he loved. Later in the evening things had quietened down, so Carter left the front store to leave a few items that were dropped in upstairs. Carter had just found a spot for them when he heard the sound of the piano playing below him. Oh hell no!

Carter took to the stairs and came down them quickly, he walked towards the front window only to find a woman sitting on the stool playing the piano. “Excuse me, that’s not for sale so could you step down from the display unit please.” There was an obvious edge to his tone – he was uncomfortable with her being there, playing it, that piano was a constant reminder of the life he left behind which was his own way of personally torturing himself and he didn’t appreciate her boldness. “I’ve this on it for a reason.” He added in that same edge tone as he reached for the before and after laminated picture display that he had on the stool that she clearly had the nerve to move. “Can I help you? It’s almost closing time.” Carter pointed out and after it dawned on him that he was being incredibly rude to a potential customer he sighed, but made no move to apologise.
