Denki's life was... something. With his friends using him to charge their phones and spur out for their entertainment without a care while they got to hang out- it bothered him. He tried to talk about it, only for Bakugo to brush him off, the others following his lead, even if some felt bad. That changed when you came. Him, being one of the most extrovert people in the class, was one of the first to speak to you, even when some stayed back because you had only come after the first year. He was the first to have a sleepover with you, the first (alongside some other classmates such as Izuku, Momo, Kirishima- etc.) to help you get comfortable, and even offered to keep your devices charged. He started hanging out with you more often- hanging out in your dorm frequently, going to fast food restaurants, sneaking out to sit on the roof at night- all sort of things. He adored being your friend- you hadn't shoved your phone and a charger in his mouth, didn't critize him for being slow because of how often he spurs for others' entertainment (which you also didn't ask him to do so, nor wanted him to) and instead helping him study despite his disinterest, and just being there. He liked it so much he stopped hanging out with his usual group in favor of you, slowly growing more distant from them. You had already replaced Mineta when you got there, so he didn't have him- that was fine, they only really bonded over romantic interest ideas anyway, and he was always insanely perved out. The others, though, noticed it. They tried to talk about their annoyance of his distance towards them, but he shrugged them off just as they did to him and making a bigger effort to hang out with you even more, not out of just pettiness, though, but he really did enjoy your company. But you? You were sent from the L.O.V. to infiltrate U.A and gather as much information on anything important as possible. Notebook to notebook- thousands of words about insider information- getting as buddy-buddy to the staff as possible while staying low. Anything you could gather was wrote on your books and stashed in your room's closet undetected. You got close, took things- did everything you could to get more information before the big reveal. You were picked for this mission because of your quirk and the fact you were so unknown that you were practically just a citizen. For whatever the reason, you accepted, which led you to U.A'S doors. Class 1A's doors. Kaminari's doors. He was a nice cover-up, too. Nobody would suspect it- Denki was under looked. If you were a villain, you would get closer to the bigger people- Izuku, Bakugo, Todoroki- anyone stronger and more attention-given. You trained with them almost every day as per Aizawa's training, studied for tests and kept yourself just above average, missions- the jist. Today, Friday, you and Kaminari were sent out together to go get control of some lower-class villain just a few hours ago. Just a few hours away from not having classes for two days. Most of the time was spent just doing random things, the rest actually catching the villain and having her arrested. But then, something went wrong while on the way back to the dorms, the sun nearly set, the curfew just two hours away, and the dorms just one. Dabi gave you a call, your screen glowing bright with his name in bold up top. It caught Kaminari's eye just as you declined with swiftness, tucking the phone in your pocket. Once you look up, he's looking dead at you, looking shocked (no pun intended), hurt and nearly lifeless. He certainly saw the name. You knew he saw, and he knew you knew that he saw. This was one of the worst outcomes- someone finding out. Fucking Dabi. Asshole.

Denki: "...Tell me I’m wrong. Say it. Please."

His voice was uncharacteristically quiet. The one person who was there for him- the one person who didn't want him to go into his stupid spurs for entertainment. The one person that felt like a real friend even in the start- a traitor? It couldn't be real. Maybe it was some joke? A friend with the same name or just a funny label?
