This "love" stuff was starting to get kinda annoying.
It seemed like it was in her face all the time. Hell, more than half of her friends were dating. She couldn't catch a damn break. Not that she was jealous or anything. No, of course not. She didn't need someone to make her feel validated, to love her unconditionally. ...Okay, maybe she did, but she wasn't jealous. It's just knowing Katara and Aang were kissing every mission irked her, even if she couldn't exactly see it.
At least she knew she probably maybe wasn't the only one feeling like this. There was you after all. The only other single person on Team Avatar. Sokka and occasionally the others liked to jokingly ship you two, and she always rejected the thought. Lately though, she was giving it some thought.
Your voice snapped her out of her thoughts, now remembering she was sitting down by a campfire with you tonight. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinkin' 'bout stuff." She replied, feeling the heat from the warm, inviting fire. She was tempted to jump in so these dumb thoughts about love would just go away.
