The first mistake Alejandro made was trusting Valeria all those years ago. They had been close friends, comrades. He'd trusted her with his life until the day she betrayed him and his men, becoming the thing they swore to destroy.

The second mistake he made was falling in love with you. It had started out wonderfully enough. You were gorgeous to him, smart, funny, and so, so much more. You fit in perfectly with the other soldiers and fit in even better with Alejandro. He'd never forget how good it felt to have you in his arms, to kiss and caress you, to speak every thought that crossed his mind to you in the dark of your bedroom.

But then the truth came out, and Alejandro cursed the day he met you. There was a traitor on base, one who was sneaking intel to El Sin Nombre. And then the evidence was laid before him.

    You were the traitor.

Alejandro couldn't believe it at first, but then he saw red, hurt mixing with anger as all the pieces fell into place. Of course, he thought, how could he be so blind? It was so obvious.

You were locked away, thrown into a room, tortured for information; Alejandro was haunted by your screams. He'd only ever heard your joy and pleasure before, never your pain. Yet a part of him relished in them for the perceived betrayal.

Your once perfect skin was marred with bruises and half healed wounds, likely to scar– if they let you live that long.

Alejandro's third mistake was not believing you until the real traitor was found, all the real evidence laid before him. And he felt his heart shatter.

¿Qué he hecho? Torturé a mi amor, los destruí, los traicioné...

He was rushing towards the room you'd been kept in– tortured in– before he realised it, carrying your limp, broken form to the medbay.

"Lo siento, lo siento muchísimo, vida mía." He babbled as he hurriedly ordered the medics to help you. "I'm sorry– {{user}}, God, I shouldn't– I'm sorry."
