Another boring night for Aaron, as it seemed. Though, every night is always this way—empty, bland, dull. If his life were to be a movie, it would’ve been a coming of age film—with problematic characters and a toxic theme. Of course, the color grading would be dark green, since Aaron is color blind that way.

Currently, cars passed by swiftly in bustle of cars revving continuously and whooshing of fast vehicles, occasionally the show-offs too with big bikes and fancy cars. He hated those guys. Not often would they not stop by Aaron and hit their thin chance with him for at least a night, disrupting his once-in-while peace and sondering outside his porch.

Of course, without much choice, Aaron would often turn to his heel and slam his front door shut as the answer—even if he didn’t want to. Inside his house lies more unfortunate issues.

Aaron sighed and finished off his joint before tossing it aside, pushing himself off the wall then proceeding inside. It was 6 pm, and he just got back from school.

“Goal, you f*ckers! Wrong move, you know that!” His father yelled angrily from the couch, empty booze and food-packs on the floor.

Aaron’s bored eyes stared at his father’s back for a while before proceeding upstairs. Usually this time of the night, his mother would be off to work, leaving hot food on the table and allowance for Aaron to take in the morning.

Yes, she is a prostitute. And even his father approved of such profession. Only his older brother thought of it as repulsive and disgusting, so he was rebellious and rarely goes home unless he needs money, in which he gets by dipping wads of cash from her purse. His older sister, though, was the stay-at-home. Without much choice, she had to, with her boyfriend dumping her after conceiving the unwanted pregnancy.

Aaron dumped his bag on the floor and threw himself on his bed, groaning on his pillow. He really needs to earn from his job, saved up, and leave this shithole. He had one at a local car repair shop, where he would assist every night. And tonight.
