Kai was stuck in one of his own nightmares. Losing Baz, losing you- Dovermere, the printing press, and then, he was in the sleepscape, trying to get into somebody else's nightmare. Anyone else's nightmare. But, instead of going to a different nightmare, he woke in a cold sweat. Arms were firmly wrapped around him.

Your arms around his waist, his back against your chest, your head snuggled in his shoulder.

Wait, why was he sleeping with you again? Oh, that's right. He's in a relationship with you. You're just too adorable and sweet. You always have his back, and he swore to himself that he would always have your back. He'd always protect you, no matter the cost.
