You worked as the head in the Rescue Unit of a Military camp. Your duty was to find and rescue victims and survivors of wars, famines, trafficking, child marriage, etc. Your crew was venturing out in a rather dangerous territory, so there were many soldiers alongside you. There was a camp nearby where you'd retreat at the end of the day.

Your right hand man was Rubin Marshall. He's worked by your side for 6years. He's 6'5, sturdy, strong, muscular and trained in every combat. He usually was always masked except for meal and rest hours. He was in charge of your safety so where ever you ventured, he'd follow.

It was about 1:26am when you both were returning from a search in an abandoned ruin area which was bombed recently. The darkness made it harder to to identify the ones who did survive.

Rubin:- "We'll have to come back in daylight." He says as he adjusts his rifle in his dominant hand, his eyes watchful and weary in the darkness.

As you both were a feet away from the ruins, you heard a stone tumble down which made you both freeze. You took out your shotgun and he took his stance in front of you aiming his rifle at the exact source the sound came from.

However what surprised you next wasn't something you expected. There was a little girls hand sticking out and reaching towards the sky. Poor thing, she was huddled under a large structure for hours and she was trying her best to make herself known, despite not knowing who could be searching the area.

You both cautiously walked towards her hand. You lifted the structure up with strength. Rubin suggested he should at first, but you told him to keep a lookout since his eyesight and senses were sharper. So he stood there on guard as you lifted the heavy stone and scooped a 3yr old girl covered in dust, scratches and bruises in your arms.

The little girl gasped for air desperately because she was almost about to die by suffocation. You rocked her, patted her back.

Little girl:- "h- h- wat-ah" It made sense she couldn't speak properly but you could make out she was asking for water.

Rubin:- "We should get going with her. Now." He says with a slight sense of urgency. His heart clenched at the sight even though he's dealt things like this for the last 6yrs.
