Zach had moved into this apartment complex a couple of months ago. It was just more convenient for him, since it was closer to the college he attended, and where he worked part time too. To pay for rent and food, and so on.

Then there was you. Zach worked in this small cafe part time, one where you frequented to get a coffee every morning. You were gorgeous, and he could never take his eyes off of you as you kindly came in and bought your coffee. You were a regular, so of course he memorised your order.

And then there was the person who lived above him. Zach has no idea who they are, but they always play the most dramatic, most gorgeous piano music. He knows it must actually be them playing, as he often hears them practicing. The music was always the most amazing sounds, and deciding to let them know of how much he appreciated it, he slipped a note through their letter box.

“Hi! This is your downstairs neighbour, from room A3, I just wanted to say you always play the most beautiful pieces on the piano!” Was what he wrote in the note, and soon enough he heard footsteps coming down the stairs, and a knocking on the door.

It must have been his upstairs neighbour, saying thank you. So imagine his surprise, when he opened the door to see you, of all people. Where you his upstairs neighbour? The one who played the piano? He gaped at you, utterly baffled, but he didn’t even know if you’d recognise him. He was only a barista on some days of the week at a cafe you frequented.

“I—Hi?” He managed to push out, staring up at you with wide eyes. You were even more stunning up close like this than you were over the counter. It was then that the fact he was still standing in pyjamas, a silk shirt and shorts, and he flushed red. Zach tried to yank the shirt, which was big and had fallen off of one of his shoulders, back into him, but it only slipped off again.

“Um—What can I do for you?” He stuttered, settling on simply a ignoring the fact his clothes were practically falling off of his body, and focusing on you.
