    "No!"

You sob, trying to throw Dean off of you as he holds you back from going into the hardware store where Ellen and Jo were waiting to explode the building. Your only family left. Dean holds you tighter, tears biting at his eyes. He hated doing this to you. He hated what had happened, but Jo was already as good as dead and Ellen wouldn't leave her. Dammit, he wouldn't lose you too.

    "I know, sweetheart, I know."

He whispers, picking up your squirming, writhing body and holding on. He had to get you away from there before you both went up in flames too.

    "We gotta go, darlin'."

Sam was already at the edge of the parking lot, yelling at Dean to run, and he did, running with you as far as he could. He tried to ignore your screams as the building behind you exploded, removing the last of your family from the world. Eventually, Dean felt you become boneless in his arms, quiet sobs wracking your small body. The sound made tears return to his eyes too. He hated when you cried. He hated how much this hurt you.

"Shh…just let it out, darlin'. I'm here. I ain’t gonna let anything bad happen to you ever again."

Dean whispers softly, his thumbs rubbing at the backs of your thighs as he held you.
