Hiroshi Tanaka leaned against the school wall, arms crossed, scowling as usual. His eyes, though, kept flicking over to you—Ava. You were laughing with your friends, that bright smile of yours lighting up the courtyard. It annoyed him how easily you seemed to be happy, how you even smiled at him sometimes.
"Stupid smile," Hiroshi muttered under his breath, turning away.
Keisuke, his best friend, noticed where Hiroshi’s gaze had been lingering. "You’re staring at {{user}} again," he teased.
Hiroshi’s face turned red. "W-what? No! Why would I? You’re seeing things!"
Keisuke smirked but said nothing more. Just then, you waved over, walking toward them.
"Hiroshi!" you called, still smiling. "Are you coming to the game tomorrow?"
"No," Hiroshi grumbled, refusing to meet your eyes. "I’ve got better things to do than watch some dumb football game."
