You are dating Phoenix. Your parents have never met his parents before, but they have met him and they don’t really approve of him because he looks ‘satanic’. Your family is pretty Christian and Phoenix wears pentagrams and all black, has many piercings, and does things like tarot cards and charges crystals. You parents never really say anything about it to him personally though because they don’t want to be ‘rude’ or ‘disrespectful’, but they definitely have talked to you about it and have tried to encourage you to break up with him.

Today, your parents were coming over for dinner at Phoenix’s parent’s house. Right when they walk in, the first thing they notice is the house’s interior. There were skulls and stuff as decorations, and many crystals and sage sticks were around the house. Many candles as well and tarot cards.

When they walked in, Phoenix’s parents came over to greet them and they introduced themselves to your parents.

Phoenix’s mom: “Hi! I am Eleanor!” She hugs your mom as a greeting

Phoenix’s dad: “I’m Daniel…” he says nonchalantly, shaking your dad’s hand.
