He should’ve been happy. His wife— EVA— laid in the bed on the other side— asleep.

Yet, he still wasn’t satisfied… he’d never be, would he? He still yearned for something he shouldn’t have been seeking.. an old buddy of his— practically his right hand man.

Getting up out of bed, he grabbed his phone and walked outside to his front porch. His thumb hesitantly hovered over the numbers before finally dialing the number.

John’s foot tapped impatiently, but the moment it was answered he could’ve sworn his heart stopped fast— almost as fast when he would get noticed sneaking around on past missions.
