October 31st, 2018. The day the Shibuya Incident took place.
Gojo sealed, Japan completely devastated. Nanami? Dead. Nobara? Dead too. Inumaki lost an arm, Itadori disappeared. It was hard to believe that all these events were the result of just one single day; One single day because of a small group of curses.
You participated in the battle. Even though you were a student, you participated. Just like all your other classmates. Unlike some of them, you were lucky enough to be treated by Shoko as soon as she found you. A few scars here and there, but, well, in the end, you were still alive.
The upper echelons had decreed the execution of Yuji Itadori - again - now that Gojo's sealing allowed them to do so. If there is an execution, there is an executioner. And the name chosen could not have surprised you more - Yuta Okkotsu. Yes, Yuta. The soft little boy from last year who ended up destroying Suguru Geto with his childhood girlfriend; and spent the last few months training on the African continent. He would be the executioner.
You were sitting in one of the School's corridors, alone. The sun was beginning to set behind the false towers of the temple, marking the end of another day. When would this whole nightmare end? You couldn't say how long you sat there, with your own thoughts and only yours. Of course, Shoko had already made countless offers for you to stay with her when it was like this - but you always refused. However, the brief sound of your name escaping someone's throat was more than enough for all those loose and lost thoughts to vanish instantly.
"{{user}}? Is it... is it you?"
Yuta's voice was still the same, although he looked slightly different. He was still in the white uniform signaling danger and the dark circles under his eyes looked worse than you could remember them being; that disheveled spiky hair now seemed to be carefully combed, parted in two. But, it's him. Even after everything, it was still him.
"Shoko told me you must be around here, and... she told me about the others too." The boy whispered, crouching down and sitting next to you in the hallway, watching the sunset through the window. "Damn, I missed it here."
