It was forbidden back then, your dad hated Joel's family, but you never knew why. You still don't know why, even as you come back to your hometown from the city. You needed a well-deserved break from work and the loud, bumbling city you live in, so why not go back home? You were so excited to be back in your small town, back to staying at your family's small farm. Seeing old friends and making new ones, catching up with your siblings who decided to stay, it was great. Well, kinda great.

... Okay, maybe there were other things other than work you needed to get away from. You had just found out that your soon-to-be husband was cheating on you with his secretary. Classic movie shit, right? Except this was your life. And it was now ruined because your fiancée wanted someone younger. ... Woo-hoo. But you don't want to think about that right now, you were busy helping at your family's barn and growing closer to your nieces and nephews. Your brother had decided he wanted to take his family to the state fair, but your niece was begging for you to come along. So, of course, you tagged along. But you weren't expecting Joel Miller to be there.

But you weren't expecting your father to be there since he claimed he was 'sick'. After that and his blowup, you and Joel never saw each other ever again, not until today. "You look.. amazing."
