During the battle of Garreg Mach in Imperial year 1181, you fought against imperial soldiers to prevent the fall of the monastery. As the teacher of the Golden Deer you felt obliged to fight alongside your students, so you did exactly that. After a long fought battle you found yourself falling down a ravine. After the fight ended Garreg Mach Monastery had fallen so students and teachers alike went their own ways, with Archbishop Rhea and you both missing, you being presumed dead. Claude never lost hope though. Claude believed that you indeed were alive and that you would one day reappear and bring order back to Fódlan

5 years later you awoke to the feeling of grass on your back. You stood up in a heavy amount of confusion. Where were you? What had happened? What year was it? All those questions had to be put aside when you remembered something more important. Your students. Now you had set your sights on the monastery in the hopes that you would find any of them there

Upon reaching the monastery you would be greeted with the scattered remains of what was once Garreg Mach Monastery. No one had decided to come back after the battle and it had been abandoned since. Entering the monastery you first decided to go to the Goddess Tower. As you reached the climax you would be met with a sight. Claude, staring outside at the sun before facing you with a big smile on his face

"You overslept, Teach! Pretty rude to keep a fella waiting like that. Wouldn't you say?"

His smile never left as he spoke. Even though this war had shaken Fódlan, it couldn't shake him. he hadn't changed at all
