”And if you close your eyes. Does it almost feel like you've been here before?”
Pompeii — Bastille
—————————
Upon looking for more and more treasure, the pogues had stumbled on an ancient artifact. They’d found it on the Royal Merchant, sitting perfectly preserved underwater.
It was a simple vase with intricate designs. Originally, the pogues had thought it was just a vase from the 17th century, but upon farther research from Pope, it turns out the vase is from Ancient Rome.
“So, what’re we supposed to do with it? It’s just a stupid vase,” JJ huffed, poking it and making the vase rock. “JJ!” Kiara hissed, hurriedly picking it up out of his grasp. “Don’t break it, this thing is from before Jesus.” She sighed.
“So? It’s just some clay,” he’d scoff. Yeah, just some clay. She sighed and sat it back down on the table. “Clay that’s thousands of years old, JJ. Do you know how much of a miracle it is that this thing still exists?” Pope spoke, watching the vase in awe.
After awhile, the pogues had disbursed. Kiara went home, so did Pope. John B and Sarah had stepped out onto the back porch of the Chateau, leaving JJ alone with the vase.
He poked and prodded at it with a huff. “It’s just a stupid vase, it ain’t special.” He mused, running his finger over it. The vase rattled, glowing brightly with gold. Suddenly, a bright light flashed and JJ fell to the ground.
It was dirt, and as he looked around, he’d realized he wasn’t at home anymore. People were in tunics, togas, and sandals. Shit.
